As of March 31st, 2019, Olympus Dictation Management System (ODMS) Release 6 (up to and including R 6.2 & R6.4), will no longer be supported.
Although end users will be able to continue to use their older software Olympus will no longer provide:
- Updates or patches to resolve compatibility issues or bugs
- Exchange single licenses for volume licenses
- Offer technical support beyond 30th June 2019
Although end users will be able to continue to use their older software (including R6.4 management via R7 WebSCP) it would open them to security issues, therefore we recommend that users take the opportunity to upgrade to the new version ODMS Release 7.
To upgrade an existing ODMS R6 License, the customer needs to purchase the necessary number of ODMS R7 Upgrade Licenses for both the Dictation Module and Transcription modules they presently use. Where central management is required, a WebSCP License should also be purchased.
Olympus ODMS R5 is no longer upgradeable or supported.
THINGS TO NOTE ON UPGRADE
Device compatibility changes in ODMS R7 include now the removal of device configuration for DS-5000/5000iD, DS-3400.
These older professional dictation recorders will still be detected and can download successfully, however there will no longer be no device customisation options available or central device configuration in ODMS R7 or via WebSCP. Device configuration for these older models is available via Device Customisation Program (DCP) which Voice Power can supply as required.
